Introduction to media and information literacy
Information literacy is extremely important in today’s world. Informational literacy is knowing how and when to use information and be able to communicate it in an ethical manner. As instructional designers we must recognize that information literacy is crucial as we create and design learning experiences. New media literacy is the use of digital communication tools such as blogs, e-mail, or instant messaging. New media allows us to use digital tools to gather information and use it for a project or any other task. This is when information literacy comes in. We must be able to know how to use this information and determine when to use it.
